There's Something Special About Little Teddy!
We're so happy to introduce Teddy, one of our precious little boys here at Puppy Love Dachshunds! With his beautiful black and cream coloring, soft long-haired coat, and darling little face, he's an adorable member of our Dachshund family.
Teddy is one of Banjo and Emmy's sweet boys, and we've loved having him here with us.
These early weeks are filled with so many wonderful moments, from caring for tiny newborn puppies to watching them become more aware of their surroundings and begin discovering the world.
It's a special privilege to raise these little ones, knowing that someday they'll be bringing so much joy and companionship to their own families.
For now, Teddy is right where he belongs, surrounded by familiar faces, loving care, and the comforts of his puppy family.
The Comforts of a Loving Beginning
Every puppy deserves a happy, healthy start, and that's something we work hard to provide at Puppy Love Dachshunds.
Teddy's early days are spent in a nurturing environment where his needs are met with plenty of attention and care. Good nutrition, comfortable surroundings, rest, and positive human interaction are all important parts of his development.
As he grows, we enjoy introducing experiences that encourage natural curiosity and help him become familiar with everyday life.
From hearing household sounds to exploring different toys and surfaces, these little experiences provide opportunities for learning without overwhelming him.
We also value the time our puppies spend with their mom and littermates. Those early relationships play an important role in developing social skills and learning how to interact with other dogs.
Our approach is simple: give our puppies the care they need, allow them to develop at their own pace, and make their first experiences as positive as possible.
Why We Love the Long-Haired Miniature Dachshund
There's something unmistakably charming about a long-haired Dachshund. Their expressive faces, short little legs, and beautiful flowing coats give them an appearance that's hard not to love.
Teddy's black and cream coloring is a classic combination, with rich darker tones beautifully complemented by lighter markings.
As his coat matures, he'll develop more of the feathering commonly seen on the ears, chest, legs, and tail of long-haired Dachshunds.
Although their coats are beautiful, they do require some upkeep. Regular brushing helps prevent tangles and keeps the hair clean and comfortable.
We encourage families to introduce grooming gently and make it a positive part of their puppy's routine.
And while Teddy's appearance is certainly lovely, the companionship that comes with sharing life with a Dachshund is what makes this breed so memorable.
A Family Connection: Banjo & Emmy
We always enjoy introducing families to the dogs behind our puppies.
Teddy's parents, Banjo and Emmy, are part of our Puppy Love Dachshunds breeding program, where we place importance on health, temperament, structure, and responsible breeding practices.
Our parent pages offer more information about Mom and Dad, and we encourage families to take a look.
We believe learning about a puppy's background is an important part of choosing a new companion. That's why we're happy to answer questions about our dogs, the care they receive, and the thought that goes into raising each litter.
The Little Lessons That Matter
Puppies learn so much before they ever leave their first home.
Gentle handling, positive interactions with people, and opportunities for age-appropriate play all help introduce them to the world they'll eventually share with their families.
At Puppy Love Dachshunds, we gradually expose our Mini Dachshund puppies to everyday sights, sounds, textures, and activities as they're developmentally ready.
We also give them plenty of time to rest and enjoy simply being puppies.
There's no need to rush these important stages. We want Teddy to have opportunities to explore and learn while always feeling comfortable and cared for.
These early experiences are just the beginning of a lifetime of learning, and we encourage families to continue positive socialization and consistent training once their puppy comes home.
A Little Piece of Home to Take Along
When the time comes for Teddy to join his new family, we want him to have everything he needs for a comfortable beginning.
We prepare our puppies for this transition by providing important health care, familiar comforts, and essentials to help families settle into their new routines.
Teddy's go-home package includes:
A complete veterinarian health examination
Age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming
Health guarantee
Enrollment in the AKC Puppy Protection Program, including microchip and limited AKC registration
Puppy starter kit
A snuggle heartbeat puppy carrying his littermates' scent for comfort during his first days in his new home
A blanket carrying familiar scents from his littermates
Lifetime breeder support from Puppy Love Dachshunds
The familiar scents from his puppy family can provide comfort during those first few nights in a new environment.
We're also happy to remain a resource for questions about feeding, training, grooming, and everyday puppy care. Our relationship with our puppy families doesn't end when their little companion heads home.
Life With a Mini Dachshund Is Never Boring!
Miniature Dachshunds are well known for their big personalities, intelligence, and affectionate nature.
Originally bred in Germany to hunt badgers, Dachshunds developed the courage and determination needed to work independently. Those traits are still evident in the breed today, often showing up as curiosity, confidence, and a little stubbornness!
These clever little dogs enjoy spending time with their people and benefit from daily activity, mental stimulation, and patient, positive training.
Their unique body structure also requires special consideration. Protecting their backs, maintaining a healthy weight, and limiting repeated jumping from furniture are important parts of keeping Dachshunds healthy and comfortable.
Long-haired varieties also benefit from regular coat care, making gentle brushing a useful routine to establish early.
With an understanding of their needs and plenty of love, Mini Dachshunds can become wonderful lifelong companions.
The Beginning of So Many Happy Memories
It's always exciting to think about the experiences waiting for our puppies as they grow.
Someday, Teddy will have favorite places to nap, familiar family routines, and people who know all the little things that make him special.
There will be walks, playtime, cozy evenings, and countless ordinary moments that become treasured memories.
For now, we're enjoying caring for him here at Puppy Love Dachshunds and watching him grow through each stage of puppyhood.
We love knowing that the attention and care we provide during these early weeks are part of the beginning of his story.
Follow Along as Teddy Grows!
We enjoy sharing our love for Miniature Dachshunds with families who appreciate these wonderful little dogs as much as we do.
